We're Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, and we're a premier restaurant here in Ankeny, IA. Our passion for serving authentic Mexican food is contagious. It's always genuine, it's always welcoming, and it's always delicious. Our margaritas are a mainstay among the crowd of regulars who come back time and time again. When you're looking for a delicious meal with a delightful atmosphere, our restaurant is the place to be. We have tacos, burritos, enchiladas, flautas and more! Plus we offer grilled chicken and rice, carne asada, pollo loco to make you happy. We're looking forward to partnering with Ankeny, Des Moines, and Altoona to continue to provide delicious food and excellent service to our community. Our Story

Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant is a premier multi-generational Mexican restaurant in Ankeny, Iowa. Our restaurant was founded by our current owner’s father in 2003, and has been a staple in the community since! We're always looking for new ways to delight our customers. That's why we offer a lunch buffet every day, so you can come in and enjoy all of your favorite menu items without having to worry about what you're going to order! Our menu is filled with authentic Mexican dishes and we are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies. We offer delivery, dine-in, patio seating, catering, and takeout, so you can enjoy your favorite meal at home. Whether you're looking for a light appetizer like chips and salsa or a hearty entree like our enchiladas, you can always find delicious options at Guadalajara!

Our mission is to create a restaurant where our guests feel welcome and appreciated. We want you to feel like you’re part of a community that cares about the experience you’re having. That's why we focus on making everything from the drinks to the food to the service as close to perfection as possible, every time you visit our restaurant.

Our guacamole is made fresh daily, so you can be sure that you're getting highest quality ingredients when you eat with us. Our menu offers a wide variety of delicious dishes for people with all tastes including tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and fajitas as well as other favorites! We also have a full bar with an extensive drink selection to pair with your meal. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a sit-down meal, we've got you covered!

Our restaurant is located at 202 SE Delaware Ave in Ankeny, IA. We do also have a second location at 3215 Adventureland Dr in Altoona, IA. Great Mexican restaurant! We were at the hotel next door and I walked over to order something to go. The hostess was very friendly and took my order with ease. As I waited, every worker that came by me was friendly and said hello. The food was fantastic!! And they have margaritas to go, lime, strawberry and mango... They were delicious🍹... I highly recommend the "fresh" guacamole.
